Ingredients:

8 bamboo skewers
400g boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
4 spring onions, cut into 1-inch pieces
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
Sticky Soy sauce, for basting and dipping
Lime wedges (for garnish)

Serving Size:

Instructions:

  1. Soak the bamboo skewers in water for approximately 30 minutes to prevent them from burning during grilling.
  2. Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  3. Thread the chicken pieces and spring onion pieces onto the skewers, alternating between the ingredients.
  4. Brush the skewers with vegetable oil and season them with salt and pepper.
  5. Place the skewers on the preheated grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes per side, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and the spring onions are tender.
  6. While grilling, baste the skewers with Sticky Soy sauce, brushing it onto the chicken and spring onions.
  7. Once cooked, remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.Serve the Yakitori skewers hot, accompanied by a side of Sticky Soy sauce for dipping. Optionally, garnish with chopped spring onions and lime wedges for added freshness.
